Kevin Salk is a photographer who was at the right place at the right time in the early 1980’s punk rock scene.

Kevin was a born and raised in Manhattan Beach, California. In the early 1980’s he and his friends were deep into the punk rock scene in Southern California. In 1982, after attending many many shows he decided to bring his Minolta 35mm camera and started snapping photos of his favorite bands. He developed the film in his homemade dark room at his dad’s house and made xerox copies for his friends. During that time he was able to capture some legendary shots of Black Flag, The Circle Jerks, The Misfits, The Descendents, Minor Threat and others. At the end the summer of 1983, Kevin put all his photos, negatives, flyers, records, and memorabilia into a box and moved on to the next chapter of his life. Almost forty years later his work came out of hibernation and the rest is history. He is back shooting bands again, a number of them are the same bands from when he first started taking photos.
